St. Martin Deaf School
Posted onEphphatha Lutheran Mission Society (ELMS) in partnership with Emmanuel Lutheran in Dearborn started St. Martin Lutheran School for the Deaf . St. Martin Lutheran School will provide the best education available in the best environment available through ASL.
In years past the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod was able to serve the Deaf community with Lutheran School for the Deaf in Detroit. After this school closed, there was no longer a way to access the youth in the Deaf community. This is why ELMS committed to starting another Deaf Lutheran School in cooperation with a hearing Lutheran School. Emmanuel has generously offered a room and joint activities during the day when students sign up for St. Martin.
With growing support our hope is to have all the funds needed to keep the school running and tuition free for the next three years.
